Bridges
A
bridge is used to replace a missing tooth.
Bridges are needed to help keep the rest of
your teeth in place. Without them your natural
teeth would drift and could lead to gum disease.
Bridges
are supported, by the two teeth on either side,
also known as anchor teeth, by a crown. You
should take care of your bridges just like
you would your natural teeth, by brushing
and flossing around the crowned area, where
they meet the teeth.
You
must also floss underneath the bridge to insure
that no bacteria buildup can accumulate. You
should try to avoid eating or chewing hard
objects, to insure the longevity of your bridge.
Bridges
can be fixed or removable, depending on the
circumstances involved.
