Composites
Composites
have been around since the early 80s.
They consist of a plastic based filling that
can be matched perfectly to the color of your
existing teeth. These composites last much
longer than the average amalgam filling and
are much stronger than amalgams. Amalgams
are mercury based fillings, or silver fillings,
that are slowly being replaced by this new
process. Amalgams usually last up to seven
years and are not commonly used today with
the new technological breakthroughs.
